Area Attractions

There's a lot to see and do around Los Molinos. In fact, Los Molinos is a great "home base" from which to explore the surrounding areas while enjoying the peace and quiet of a well-managed mobile home and RV park.

Lassen Volcanic National Park

Lassen Volcanic National Park, which is located to the northeast of us, is home to Lassen Peak, the largest plug dome volcano in the world.

The park actually started off as two different national monuments in 1907 thanks to President Theodore Roosevelt - Cinder Cone National Monument and Lassen Peak National Monument.

On a visit to the park, you may see active boiling mud pots, fumaroles, and hot springs.  There are four shield volcanoes in the park and there are currently 14 snowfields.

Hiking Lassen Peak

If you enjoy hiking, you may want to give Lassen Peak a try.

This five mile hike offers spectacular views. As you approach the summit, look for Lake Helen below you and Brokaw mountain in the distance.

You may even see Mt. Shasta in the distance on a clear day.

Waterworks Water Park

Waterworks Water Park

Kids and adults alike have a great time at Waterworks water park in nearby Redding, CA.

Enjoy the afternoon in the wave pool or float through the Lazy Lagoon. Take a spin in the Cyclone or test your courage on The Dragon.

New Clairvaux Vineyard

In Vina, CA, just eight miles to our south, you can see how Trappist monks make fine wine at the New Clairvaux Vineyard in a location where they were told they wouldn't succeed.

This is the same region where Governor Leland Stanford planted the largest vineyard in the world in the 1880's.

Black Butte Lake Recreation Area

Boating, tubing, waterskiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing are all possible at Black Butte Lake.

The area offers over 20 miles of hiking, biking and nature trails.

Campsites are all dry-camping, which makes Black Butte a great day trip with New Orchard as your home base.

If you enjoy fishing, you're likely to find bass, carpie and catfish.
